Stop the leaves 🍁 from falling
as I can’t let summer go
keep those winds soft and light
So they fall off painfully slow

Stop the flowers wilting
and going past their prime
can’t we stop this wanton act?
and reverse the hands of time?

Keep your flowerless season
and spiteful naked trees
I want warmth and colour
with that glorious summer breeze 

Clear away those grey damp clouds
return to powder blue
tell Jack Frost to take a hike
as summers not yet through

Can’t you skip this winter? 🥶 
Just once in your relentless cycle?
It’s just too long we have to wait
for next year’s summer arrival
