The sunflowers are looking tired
they can barely lift their heads
It's time for them to sleep 
for the winter months ahead

They've brought us so much pleasure 
they've brightened up our day
if I could change just one thing
I would wish that they would stay

There's not much lately to smile about
the world's such a sorry state
they bring us some perspective 
with their gorgeous smiley face

Stay with us through winter
just for once, for us this year
hang in there for as long as you can
before you disappear

I know it won't be happening 
In nature's endless cycle
but I'll wait in anticipation
for your welcomed next arrival🌻
