We celebrate with family
as today is our Thanksgiving 
a time for deep reflection 
and nostalgic reminiscing 

It's a huge American party
but for different reasons now 
It's more about our families
than the crops that we once ploughed 

We counted all our blessings 
for a bountiful bumper crop
we now pray that gun crime 
and shooting will finally stop

It's a joyous happy occasion 
with lots of hugs and kissing
though some will find it hard 
as loved ones will be missing 

Some will celebrate differently 
and find their peace in church
we're all so very different
In our time spent here on earth 

Whoever you might be
wherever you are living
wishing love and peace
and a very ‘Happy Thanksgiving💕’
